I have a Dimage Z5 which produces great macro shots for my butterfly photography. I am thinking of getting the Panasonic DMC FZ50 - has anyone got any details about the macro capability. The Dimage Z5 has a macro and super macro function - does the Panasonic have the same or do I need a DMW-LC55 Close-up lens to get the same results?
I don't know much about this camera, but you can see the full specs, and download a brochure at Panasonic's website (panasonic.co.uk) that includes the previous model, the FZ30 (I couldn't find a brochure for the FZ50). But you CAN download the manual for the FZ50! According to Steve's Digicams website (steves-digicams.com) review of the FZ30: Macro close-up mode range is: Wide: 1.97 in. (5cm) Tele: 6.6 ft. (200cm) (Have you looked at the 'Help I am new to DSLR' thread, as it's about the FZ50?)
