    All these are on what were the old WW1 troop training grounds. 8,000 soldiers at a time passed through on their way to the front. The wood in the middle one above is Round Wood, where gas training was carried out.

    My rule about cliches is do them, but try to do them better. They are a good challenge.

    You want lone trees? We got lone trees. We got so many lone trees you can have a couple for free. We got lots more where they came from.

    Matter of fact, I keep a lone tree in the back of my wagon, just in case, but these two were ones someone else put there.

    @PeteRob I have to 'Like' those shots of Dartmoor. I love the place. I was born there, spent many years and holidays there, did the 'Five Tors' and 'Ten Tors', and scattered my mother's ashes there.

    I do not have a single photograph.
