There's a song about that involving a man in a wardrobe closing the doors too quickly, a hammer and the punchline "For Christ's sake, bloody ding-dong".

    Any news yet, Nige?

No Leslie, no news. Our other cat, Shadow, is clearly missing him too, she is very needy.

    Did Kotaro ever return?

No. Sad to say I think we’ve lost him. We have decided when our other cat dies, she is at the average end of life expectancy of Maine Coons but she is well and active, so it may or may not be soon ish, we will get 2 kittens and a puppy. We won’t do it to her now as it would be unfair.
She has only started eating properly again, she has missed him too.

Since Shadow can't read english, I can say that he was by far the best cat we have ever had.

I would check my shoes before putting them on if I were you just because Shadow hasn't said she/he can't read English doesn't mean she/he can't!

So sorry to read this and I'm just catching up. My neighbour lost her cat a few times and she would go house to house asking people to che k garages and sheds. Cats are just so independent, something that disturbed me when Diane still had Boris, very much a lap cat , who would still go missing at the drop of a hat.
