    Crow-mimicking squirrel

We thought we heard a crow cawwing but looked up and it was this squirrel.
I thought, nah it'll be a crow somewhere but then i saw his mouth move as the sound came out, very odd!
Taken at 16:36:02 - straight out the Panasonic, just a resize

Like Bettina I went to London's New Year's Day parade, to see, well er, lots of Americans!

Canon G9 'P' 400ASA camera held high above my head, I was about four rows back in the crowd.

About 2 p.m. walking on the Greensand Ridge. An Alpaca, looking smug and snug in a warm winter coat.

17:12 in the lounge, trying (and succeeding!) to set a new house record for the downhill ski slalom on Joe's Wii Fit.
The record lasted all of, ooh, 10 minutes until Joe got on it again and sliced two seconds off my time! :D

    My new photographic present

My Christmas present to myself (well nobody else bought me anything much). Taken in my study on Canon PS S80 about 10 minutes ago, so around about 10:10pm
Edit - I already had the lens, the body is the pressie (bought on Saturday 27th); note my quick release clips on the strap, taken from a gardener's hanging basket kit

    Out for a Walk

Out for a walk with my little girl. Took loads of photos of swans, ducks the lake etc. However this one still took my eye when I came to pick one.

Sony A200 @ 15:06 this afternoon at Cannop Ponds in the Forest of Dean.

    Re: Happy New Year

Came down with the 'flu on Christmas Eve, on top of tonsilitis and an ear infection I was already suffering with, so my holiday has been spent in bed under the influence of painkillers, antibiotics, Lucozade and Ribena. Urghh. :(

2009 is International Year of Astronomy so I have to post a star shot:
Comet 144/P (Kushida) which is currently much brighter than expected (just about visible in binoculars, if you have a clear, unpolluted sky & know exactly where to look). Canon 40D, 300mm, 32 x 30 sec exposures at f/4 stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, 2220 - 2255 UT 01 Jan 2009.
