Appreciate some may be, nay, WILL be duplicates, but hope you'll forgive me. Some things are worth doing more than once.

Thanks for doing this. August as an adjective, gosh, I don’t think I’ve ever used it.

Thank you very much for putting the list together, I probably ought to print it out and try to shoot something new to fill in the gaps.

I had to look it up. (Hangs head in shame)

It was an excuse to use the word, and the bright eyed amongst you may see what I did over the first three days. ;)

Also just to add that it is very much my pleasure to have made up the list, I absolutely love setting themes!

It's all good fun, no idea what you mean by a sting. :)

    August

Controversial, but awarding those who might be thought of as august people.

    RovingMike Crucifixion's a doddle...

Ah, I hadn't thought of awards as an answer to this, but here's another one:

August was a word I thought of when I met this gentleman having a coffee in a back street of Stone Town, Zanzibar one morning. He carried himself differently from other locals. Turned out he was the town Pathologist.

Flora Macdonald. Thought of as august enough to have a statue of her still around.
Flora MacDonald is famously known for helping Bonnie Prince Charlie escape from Scotland after the defeat of the Jacobite's in the Battle of Culloden in 1746. Bonnie Prince Charlie [Prince Charles Edward Stuart] led the second Jacobite Uprising of 1745 to overthrow King George II.

Henry Spencer Moore OM CH FBA was an English artist. He is best known for his semi-abstract monumental bronze sculptures which are located around the world as public works of art.

Rather a dry description of a man whose works are admired by many, including me.

I think I mentioned it the last time you posted this pic... On pinhole day I took a shot with the camera lying inside this artwork. Not developed yet but it'll either come out amazing or dreadful!

    Well done you!
I agree about your picture of the pathologist. There's something about him, indefinably august but someone who inspires admiration.
