I was at here thinking about some shelters close by that I could visit, looked outside into the garden and what do I have?

It was here when we bought the house but it had gone to ruin. It was either repair it or pull it down, but there is a workshop under it and repairing was the cheapest and easiest option. The workshop under it suffers badly from damp but it really isn't feasible or cost effective to sort out. I rather wish, despite it being a nice place to sit, we had pulled it all down.

Looks a nice site. Where is it?

We are stopping at a site, Camping Sous Les √Čtoiles in Normandy at the beginning of October.

Excellent. I'd like one of those.... but first I'd need a big enough garden ....

I am envious of you for having a garden of a size to have the shelter and now you tell us there is a workshop underneath, double envy!!

Our local bandstand - offers shelter if there is no significant wind.

How to make a bus stop shelter photo look interesting. I think I have failed.

And the stone on the top. I think that was when the last bus went from Chelford to Macclesfield. I believe the return one is due soon. :)

I assume this was once a bus stop. I don't ever recall seeing a bus stop sign near it, although I do sometimes see people sat in it, but they could just be walkers resting I guess.

And the good old cream phone boxes thrown in too.

I was going to question whether it was a lot earlier than 1987. I then remembered it was Hull. It could have been taken this century!

:) Like any semi isolated area we could be a little behind the times.
I am fairly sure the date is correct, it is from a roll of negatives that I scanned last year and can date it from the girl I was living with just after graduating from college who appears on some of the negatives.

Maybe you should have waited until there was a queue?

I can say it. I was born there and still have relatives there. They are backward too.;)

The registration plate 271 CLT, for a bus in routine service, would suggest something earlier. A few minutes searching suggests the bus was registered before 1963, possibly in North West London, though I didn't find the reference to historic number plates that easy to follow.
