Mercure Hotel, Newbury. Where I usually spend my Accor loyalty points - just about to lose 30,000 of them because there has been no business travel this year to keep my status up. It’s usefully situated for some family visits.

As I was racking my brain for all meanings of 'quarters', this one eluded me. Probably just as well as the only hind quarters available here belong to my other half and I'm not sure he's up for that.
I was surprised that in my zoo pics on Flickr I couldn't find a good hindquarters view of something big - like an elephant, then I remembered the deer photos and though the hind's hindquarters was apposite.
I was going through my zoo pics not on Flickr looking for better hindquarters when I saw this - not a technically good shot - surprised that I had kept it - but it was a tight family group in what goes for their winter quarters.

I was hoping to do a shot with us quarters too - Michael is an American and he has a collection of Quarters from every state in the US but I suspect they are one of the things that got offloaded when we moved. My next thought was for four piles of various ways of making up 25p, but it seems we really are a cashless society these days as none of us could even make up one lot of 25p!
I didn’t even know that they had different quarters until I got them out of my US currency bag that holds spare coins ready for use on our next trip. Hopefully that will be in November 2021 to visit my sister but who knows!
If I ever need £1 I've always got these 'quarters'.
Oh, I’ve got some of those. Not sure I have four though.
Mmmm - I used to have one of those as well. Were school children given them for the silver jubilee?
Edited to add - found it. Along iwth some sixpences, a thruppeny bit and a stray 2 Euro coin.
I had to buy them!
Yeah, but when you were a schoolgirl your currency would have been livestock.
Much better system!
Approximately one quarter...
I only realised this as it was cooking
Remember the heat?
