    Anyway, the local Catholic church goes one better that the Church Street builders on the Dutch/Flemish/extended gable design...

    Another church. This one is very modern and complements the new estate round the leisure centre in the Preston area of Tadworth very well. But it has no steeple, so you can pray your little hearts out and you'll never get to heaven ;)

    no steeple- reduction in odds of being struck by lightning if the prayers/confessions aren't right

    Exeter's extraordinary Sidwell Street Methodist Church. It's conveniently sandwiched between a fish and chip shop on the left and a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet on the right. For the bored the Duke of York pub is only a few steps past the fish and chip shop while the Odeon cinema is barely fifty yards in the opposite direction...

    Interesting in that they are about to partially demolish it to build yet more flats, 14 of them on three floors. Which implies that Drake House also includes the single story workshop part of the building, as seen in this pic - two frames stitched together.
