"In body" or "In lens" stabilisation

    It's less reliable but certainly can be "as good" (for most people, most of the time. I accept that it's pretty well impossible to hand-hold a MP-E effectively.)

    The point about IS is that it gives you the opportunity to be "luckier" by about 3 stops, or several drinks, or a few years' progression of Parkinson's Disease.
