I used to have a Nikkor 14-24

    but rarely used it

Now I find I miss the wide end and would like a replacement, BUT not the 14-24 because of cost.

I am always happy with pre owned and need your advice please.

My most used lens is the 24-120 Nikkor therefore I need one wider.

This was shot with the 14-24 from about 20"

    Advice please, thank you Dsc_6323.jpg

You could look at the Sigma Art range. There is a 12-24 mm.

I use a 17mm Tamron SP AD2 lens on my D600. It used to work just as well on my Canon 5D. :D

What is your budget? A used 14-24 is £724 from MPB which is considerably less than I paid for mine.

Are you using full frame or DX? together with budget, it will be easier to help you out.
There aren't a whole heap of 14mm lenses around, and I still use my 14-24 on occasion, so can't give you advice on quality, just what is on the net.

Are they Full Frame as the 14-24 is

Also a 14-24 is £1,400 new so nothing even near that price or I may as well go for another Nikkor

    Thanks

Yes, I bought mine new a few years back, fortunately I didn't lose much on it and you are right about the cost used it is good

Sorry, by saying Nikkor 14-24 I wrongly assumed people would "know" it was FF, so Full Frame

As I said "BUT not the 14-24 because of cost. I am always happy with pre owned and need your advice please"

Ill check costs when I see what others use.

Thanks for reminding me about the 14-24, I haven’t used mine for a while so I got it out for some exercise, might take it for a walk later.

I hardly used mine shooting sports, shame in fact I still have AND use the Lee 150 filters on other lenses.

    There is this

Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 DG HSM II

    or this

    Nikon AF-S 16-35mm f/4G ED VR

    Anyone ?

Sort of assumed, but just as you were a bit daft in getting rid of the 14-24...….I was daft enough to get rid of my FF camera, and now use a D5300:eek: Do we get demerits for being daft?:D

Could not justify it at the time, :(

I always associate 18 mm focal length with APS-C camera's.

I'm biased, I'd go for the used 14-24 but as I have one I would say that wouldn't I?
