Not today's weather, but two days ago - we were staying at Clyde, in Central Otago, and a southerly came through. The weather down where we were was pleasant, but on the top of the mountain range to the south - the Old Man range - there was fresh snow. This is midsummer, here...
Don't worry, he's only passing through on his way the give the Danes a good kicking. They're the guys who should be sweating it.
Glad the roofers were finished yesterday, but still have a scaffold outside which seems to be secured ok... At least the wind direction is more favourable than Arwen was.
Nice morning here, but it looks like the wrong weekend for my daughter to visit a friend in Edinburgh.
Storm Malik…… I thought I’d done a Rip Van Winkle and missed storms C to L Then I read it was named by the Danish Met Office.
Right and proper - from what I have read the storm will get a lot more violent by the time it gets to Denmark.
Hmph! You'd have Londoners naming storms when gusts got to 30mph with that judgement. Wind have swung to the NW, so we are sending it on its way - for today. More to come for us tomorrow. But then, our population is low, and of course we are used to it aren't we?
I thought you were taking the mickey but I see it's true. I knew one was coming to batter us, from the North, tomorrow but hadn't realised they would actually name it! Must be a bad one with winds over 80mph for them to bother naming it, let alone warn us Northerners.
