A handy link for Inflatable and his MX

........you can download a service manual for the MX and certain other Pentax models here. They're in Adobe Acrobat format so you'll have to have that program on your computer.

Well I'm sure there are loads of loyal Pentax users out there who would assert that Pentax haven't lost it, and their current cameras are excellent. And they're probably right. But for me, the last Pentax 35mm SLR that was worth having was the LX.

Thanks, Will! I hadn't bothered looking on the web, as mine came with user manuals for both the camera and winder. But a service manual - could come in handy/img/wwwthreads/smile.gif

Hope you never need it Nick but you never know when your sprogget valve might disengage from your sphincter mechanism!

'Tis my favourite manual also, although accessories such as winder or motordrive are expensive and difficult to find. Would also like a gridded screen for landscape stuff.

    Got the winder - <img src="/img/wwwthreads/smile.gif">.
Yes, a gridded screen is always first on my wants list for any camera with interchangeable screens - I've never really known why they're not standard.

Well I thought this was a real "Pentax users come to life" posting. Instead it is a "Cosina users want a lens" posting. Shame.

I guess like most Pentax users we are out taking pictures and enjoying our equipment. I have just had a fault on my PZ-1 repaired. The shutter (and film) was not operating, but the rewind was OK. Anyhow I sent it back to Pentax UK, claimed my Pentax user 20% and got it repaired fot £60.00 and change. The shutter and autofocus are now very quiet, so I guess it needed something doing to it !!

It was interesting that it is a PZ-1 (bought in Oakville Ontarion in 1992). Pentax UK booked it in as a Z1-P, which is a different camera !

I think the Z1 (or PZ-1 or PZ-1n or Z1-p) is still the best camera that pentax made.

I await the new wide angles with interest, as well as the digital body, of course. Although with a daughter now at University I better start saving.

Chris, look a little lower down - the MX isn't a Cosina!

I saw those after I made my post ! I just was not expecting real activity in this forum.

I bought my son an MZ-m and I have an MZ5-n also. I prefer the PZ-1 but the Mz-5n I think is underated. It has a lot of flexibility and a nice "retro" style.

Well my gf would have bought me a Pentax but finances are rather tight so instead i got a camera that takes Pentax lenses. Sorry if this upsets you.

I used a Pentax digital on Friday - bloody good it was too. Six pics taken, tweaked and into a report in 5 minutes flat and no chance of Max Spielman screwing them up!
