I'd not heard of an MZ motorcycle before so I looked 'em up. 'Naff'! Well, thats one word you could use I suppose Will. Pig-ugly would be another and perhaps my choice. YUK!

Needless to say I will be getting the machine fixed up again as without it, I will be unable to get anywhere to take any pictures. (or get to work) <img src="/img/wwwthreads/wink.gif">
If I've got any money left after said repairs and my holday (three weeks in Brazil) I'll splash out on one.

It's not the size of your lens that matters; it's the depth of your field!

My opinion of the MX remains unchanged, so far - that it's a superb machine with everything you need, one of the best methods of indicating exposure in the viewfinder yet developed, just about the optimum size for me and good looking to boot. It probably will get more use than the Leica for a bit. And Leica could certainly learn from the 5 LED exposure meter....
Now I just need to use it a bit - not much chance in this weather!

Thanks, Roy. I have a feeling that it might well become my favourite manual focus SLR - it's just so "right".

Yeah, they do tend to be dear. I was pretty happy with mine, as I got the MX winder with it for about the price they normally go for without. It's hard to explain what's so good about the MX - sure, it'll take a full motordrive, has interchangeable screens and backs, but the main attraction is that it does what it does very well and with no fuss. This was, I suppose, the equivalent of the EOS 3 in it's day - a semi-pro camera. Shows how much things have changed!

Ah, the LX - fantasic camera. A true pro system - interchangeable viewfinders, the lot. But lots more than an MX, sadly!
