Come on now, don't be shy, don't let those nasty Nikonites and loony Leicaholics intimidate you. Stand up and be counted. Surely someone out there must be using Minoltas. I promise you, it's nothing to be ashamed of. I admit that mine are a bit long in the tooth, but they're none the worse for that. I reckon the old SR1, SR7 & SRTs must be some of the worlds best kept secrets, they're really well made and a delight to use. I just can't understand why they seem to be so overlooked by collectors, though I'm not complaining. I've snapped up quite a few real bargains over the last six months, at about half the price of Canons and Pentaxes of similar condition & spec and some for a lot less, eg MC 50mm/f1.4 Rokkors for £15 & £20, I've seen a Canon FD 50mm/f1.4 advertised at £79. Now you might have guessed that I'm a bit partial to Canons too, but I can honestly say that, as good as the Canon lens is, it's certainly not 4 or 5 times better than the Rokkor, in fact I would think they're probably on a par.
Thanks to Ivor Matanle and his classic report on the old Minoltas a few months back, I've now got myself a nice collection of Minoltas and a decent sized hole in my pocket. (Watch out Ivor, the Bank Manager from Hell is on the rampage, and it's you he's after, but thanks anyway). The problem now though, is I'm starting to fancy a top end AF system but can't decide between the Dynax 9 and the EOS3, but by the time I can afford one they'll probably have been replaced anyway. Ain't life a bitch?

Go for the EOS3 then you start saving for some fantastic Image Stablised lenses.

Sounds OK to me David, but it might not go down too well with the Minolta Boys, If they ever show up, that is! I Reckon Big Will must have been down and scared 'em all off, Unless that Clive's been in and bored them stupid with all that Leica talk! Still they should wake up in a week or so./img/wwwthreads/smile.gif

Yeah I'm beginning to think you're right Nick, They must have been ambushed by those two Leicaholic villains Brian & Clive. Talking of villains, has ANYONE seen Will?

I'm still here, and still Canon-free

Had a wee break from the forum, but catching up now. Buy the EOS3 AND the Dynax 9 and send me the 9....

Aw shucks, I was hoping to buy 2 of each so I could maybe get a discount, so the problem with your otherwise brilliant idea, John, is that I'd be left with 2 EOS3s on my hands. Can you begin to imagine how awful that would be? I mean, lifes a bitch already.
    Dream on my boy!

Hmm, you'd need to sell a kidney to afford enough lenses for them both. But if you're going to get 2 Dynax 9s that's just sheer greed. I think in the forum community spirit you can't afford not to give me one of them. I'm only offering to take one to help you out, it's not like I'd enjoy it or anything...

Ah, now there's a problem, I sold a kidney years back to buy my T90, do you know how much one of those dialysis machine costs?

I'll see that kidney and raise you a liver and a testicle (neither of which I use much these days...liver shot to hell and the other..well that speaks for itself).

Not sure about either the liver or kidney there Will, but I think Auntie Olive might be interested in the testicle, Might even swop you for a Canon printer!

Just found in the Peacehaven Home for old Codgers a spare brain with red blob on it. Could swap it for a Canon (Do they make gas fires) printer.

Oh, that'll be Brian's then Steve. Just pop it in a jiffy bag and pop it through the letterbox on the Leica Forum's door.
P.S. Did you hear the one about the brain and the jumplead? This brain and a jumplead went into a bar and ordered two pints of bitter.

The barman says "I'm not serving you"

    "Why" asks the brain

Barman "Cause you're out of your head and (turning to the jumplead) you'll only start something!"

A red blob on it you say Steve? Should be worth a few bob then, 'cos it's obviously never been used!
