I'd appreciate your thoughts on these two pictures. They are the same frame but 2 different treatments.

    Thank you for looking.

Oooh, they are absolutely lovely, both of them.

I think the B&W wins as it gives a more dramatic atmosphere to it without losing anything essential - and contains just a fraction more detail over to the right, where there's a faint line of trees in the mist with the mountain behind.

I could live with a large blow-up of that on my wall. :)

    Very nicely captured.

    Regards, Mike

I'm torn between the two. Think the colour just takes it. Very nice.

...whereas just to be awkward I think the ghostly mono takes it.

Mono for me as both Sun and foreground are less dominant. Very nice shot.

Good work. Like the colour best. Unusually for me, I'd also suggest a slight trim off the right hand side to make edge to tree equal on both sides.

I'd chew your arm off for either shot, but leaning to the mono. Only by a fraction though.

Colour for me. Love the hint of blue in the sky and what the day may hold. Both are great.

love both of them - but if I had to choose just one to print and hang it would be the colour version

Both lovely, but for me, the treatment of the light around the sun in the mono gives it the edge.
