Frost in Wasdale

    Brrr! The composition is a bit of a fight for attention between the foreground and the middle sky-line rather than there being a progression through the image. The puddle works as letter box with cutoff just including the lake with the trees. The top works if you lose the puddle, bush mid-left as left-hand corner.

    Agree there are a lot of interesting elements, but in the context of featuring the frost and ice, I think it's fine as it is.

    There's a halo on the left hand hill. Is it a trick of the light, or a processing issue?

    I didn’t mean to imply it didn’t achieve that. Maybe my “Brrr!” was too short!

    Nice contrast to the standard Wasdale views - and I love the touch of dawn top left, about to roll in and banish the ice.
