80 grand? For that money they would have to be able to build me a bespoke bike...and believe me, they would be gibbering under the table after trying to do so, and pay me the 80K to go away
It's an amazing project, I think the headline in the linked article is unfair about 'buying' a medal. Firstly because their star rider is one of the best of the best anyway so we're into marginal gains rather than winning by tech. Secondly, as if that's not what 'Team GB' (sic) have been doing for years already... Alongside this bike, the Hope/Lotus, new Look and new Pinarello it was shaping up to be a fascinating track season plus Olympics.
