Oh, you can get the same effect with a CCD sensor camera quite easily, if you put your mind to it...

Anyway, why are my 1st of the Month pics usually so boring?

They finally got around to fixing the 6" diameter 'sink-hole' that appeared in the road...

The town that we do the market in is called Altrincham in Greater Manchester. My first flat when I left home at 17 or 18 was in Altrincham town centre near to the market. The building in the background with the tall chimney stack was my first flat.
Where the food truck is parked used to be a driveway to the flat and for the butchers that used to be on the ground floor.

Many happy memories too. I’ve also sent the photo to my TV/film director friend who I shared the flat with. He’s certainly moved on but he has good memories of the place too.

Funny really. I spent the first eighteen years of my life (and a couple of later ones) in south Manchester, not too far from Altrincham. Been to Oldham, lots of areas of Manchester itself, Stockport, but never Altrincham. If I get a chance to visit family up there in the foreseeable future, may have to remedy that omission!

No idea. They were shut when I took the photo. They are a different part of the market to me so not walked by since.

Now I am on a computer as opposed to my phone, I have just seen how big the photo's I uploaded this morning are. A bit wide aren't they?

They're okay on my screen to be honest. I think 800px is on the small side these days, and would prefer a forum standard of 1024.

Yes, I think the 800 pixies was a guideline back in the day. Possibly time for an update.
