They have been their own worst enemy but I doubt rebranding will make the slightest difference.

They aren’t rebranding really tho. Facebook will still be Facebook. It’s just that now it will be a brand under a different umbrella name. Happens all the time. Slow news day?

    Agree.
Time to rebrand the BBC though (apart from the world service).

    Let's make it
    GRR
Government Royal Religion news. Much more descriptive.

You need to add transphobic on current form.

Yes, and whilst we are at it, let's split it as the various countries want their independence too..
    EBC - English Broadcasting Corporation
    SBC - Scottish Broadcasting Corporation
    WBC - Welsh etc etc

This would also give each country the option of deciding its own funding method - licence or "nationalised" or privatised, in which case the "C" could become "Company" not "Corporation".

I have to say that I think that currently, the BBC pays too much to top presenters, there are surely many who would do the same job for much less remuneration. Why do we need "big names" to present programmes?

Maybe because that is what brings in the viewers? Then potentially when selling the program abroad or whatever that then brings in the revenue.

This argument seems fallacious considering ITV pay Ant and Dec nearly £40 million a year which makes Lineker's £1.36m seem somewhat reasonable.

After all, who actually pays A&D?

I've got to clarify here that I meant the radio broadcasts. I seldom watch BBC on TV or my PC.

Some holding company names are impenetrable, Diageo, Mondelez etc. but they are really only for investment analysts, who tend to forget the scope and diversity of the operation if they are not collected together.

Nobody really. I'm not surprised you've not heard of them.

They sang a song once, you may have heard though.

You probably don't watch them, and I don't blame you for that, but unless you've been living on Mars, you've heard of them

ITV is funded by advertising, which means by the people who buy stuff advertised thereon. Since I'm not one of them, I don't care how much ITV pay performers like Ant and Dec. But the BBC is funded by a Licence fee which I do pay, so what they pay sports pundits is important to me because my contribution is being wasted.
