Wait for the fallout? If it is remain, wait and see how long before the leave camp cries foul and wants to rerun the poll in the hope of getting the result they want since it was rigged?
Well all the key Tory leavers have sent a note to Cameron saying he has to stay whatever the outcome. Trying to save their own skins perhaps?
If it is leave his position has to be virtually untenable beyond the immediate term, until a pro-exit candidate can be appointed.
Sounds like the kind of thing they'd do. Boris will probably also announce his relief that we can remain part of the big European family.
My guess would be that it's Johnson's attempt to detoxify himself with Tories on the 'Remain' side, irrespective of the referendum result... with a view to limiting the divisions in the party, should he become leader.
Well there goes my retirement plan.... I am probably going to have to work for years to pay for the pensions of the folk who voted to leave.... Unless we get out. I want to know the demographic breakdown of the leave voters. Graeme
I am disappointed, saddened, embarrassed and somewhat scared as a result of the final outcome of this referendum.
Cameron fails to do the right thing..... He should have called an election.... he should have gone straight away. Graeme
This would make matters worse. A divided Conservative party and a Labour party nowhere near ready for office trying to fight each other, remember the official Labour line was remain, which a majority of those who voted rejected. I will be interested to read the response from the EU, seemingly there are already calls for similar referenda in two other member countries.
