"Digital Concepts" Flashgun for Canon on ebay (or something else?!)

    Hi all

I'm new to flash photography and would like something cheap & cheerful to get me started on my Canon 300D which hopefully would work if I upgrade (fingers crossed for a 40D!).

I saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTO-SLAVE-FLASH-For...1231151001r8434
and wonder whether anybody has used one or has any alternative suggestions.

I'm reluctant to jump straight in with a Speedlite due to cost and I don't anticipate using the flash very often. Something which works both on and off camera with some auto functions for under £100 would be ideal.

    Any comments appreciated! :D

    Cheers.

I'd suggest avoiding this and getting a proper Canon Speedlite. A used EX380 would probably set you back around £100 and actually be compatible with the camera.

The e-Bay item looks very much like a bog standard manual flash being sold as something it's not...

Alternatively WarehouseExpress have the Sigma EF530 for just over £116...
