Very nice. Love the glasses.
His military green shirt with brown stains (plantain) and his weathered skin and hat makes me think of a peasant in town to sell his produce.
Very nice shot!
It gets no better than that. Brilliant.
My thanks to R.Mike, Luis and Alan. Luis, I was told the man lost an eye in the fighting following the Bay of Pigs invasion. He was a very friendly chap but then so are the majority of Cuban citizens.
Really like this. Some black and white portraits are a bit over cooked for my taste but this very nice indeed.
It's a great shot imho, I really like it
Really great. What focal length was this at? I can't see the exif info...
(My guess is at 50mm?)
Great shot, portraits don't normally do much for me but this is a cracker. What an interesting looking chap, i bet he has lived a colorful life.
My thanks to jon jones, George and Chris: Think the focal length would be around 50mm can't currently summon up the 'properties' on the file for some obscure reason.
Probably knows whether Capa faked the Falling Soldier or not.
He probably was the Falling Soldier.
Well that's that question answered then...
sorry to 'tail on' an older thread but that post is what the camera is for, well done and well connected, it shews.
My thanks, and it's not really that old..
I can just imagine him saying 'heh, heh, heh m'boy!'
Super shot Mike.
Nice shot. Love the single tooth and expression.
Great character portrait. The bw works well too but I bet colour would also be good.
More thanks to Ned, ilfc1892, Scott and beatnik. Get yourselves over to Cuba - togs paradise..
