I just did an update and found that the latest version of DDP 4 for 64 bit windows ( released April) has a local adjustment brush. It is a fairly simple one and just a couple of minutes playing on my laptop suggests it lacks automask and needs more processing power than the laptop (which is a cheap one) can provide. However it is an interesting addition and as far as I know the biggest change since they enabled processing of older .CR2 files making it unnecessary to run DPP 3 in parallel if you had old and new cameras. I guess adding gradient filter and automasking will likely follow. I haven't tried to update the mac version yet.
