That might have seemed like a clever sound bite in your head but it's just pouring petrol on the flames.

    Is there racism? Of course.
Is it exclusively directed at black people? No.
Is it the exclusive behaviour of white Anglo Saxon Protestants? No.
Is it something that people with dark skins never exhibit? No.
Do some people with dark skins play the race card for all it's worth? Yes.
    Have I witnessed this? Yes.
Do I know just how angry it makes people on the receiving end? Yes.

If you want a better world, get off the bandwagon.

Well, that was a good read and, suffice to say, that, I'm guessing, that certain parties shan't be exchanging
    Christmas / Birthday gifts ;)

and seeing as how this thread is about 'anti-racism rally' photos ...here's a few from Vancouver ..

    1) Preparing for the rally:

    Jun5-20-AP-Fri-DSCN3301 copy.jpg

    2) How to social/physical distance ones self when photographing a rally during the Corona Virus:

    Jun5-20-AP-Fri-DSCN3359 copy.jpg

taken from a half (approximately) mile away

    3) A very small portion of the crowd disbanding and off for Friday night drinks

    Jun5-20-AP-Fri-DSCN3404 copy.jpg

    4) A mask that I've never seen before, but, kind of self-defeating if it's meant to avoid catching / passing on the Corona Virus ..

    Jun5-20-AP-Fri-DSCN3456 copy.jpg

    5) Obviously, there won't be any further rallies, because all the signs are being left in the Skytrain (Tube equivalent) stations ....

    Jun5-20-AP-Fri-DSCN3390 copy.jpg

    6) ..... of course, there's always going to be a rebel with sign disbandment ;)

    7) The Sign of the Day, IMVHO .....

Cheers and I'll apologise, beforehand, for the overly tight cropping along with use of spot-metering and High ASA's. .... ;)

@Done_rundleCams well I shot more than half of mine in bright sunlight, f/4 and ISO 1000 ...

I did wonder a couple of times why the 6D was complaining that 1/4000th of a second wasn't fast enough.

Hi Jack. Nice set. The pink mask looks more Pussy Riot than BLM, but as you say, it's completely off-base for Covid protection.

I'm guessing (and hoping) that your full frame 6D would provide cleaner high ASA's than my aging small sensor Coolpix P900 ;)
and, like you, I am amazed when my camera complains about the shutter speed that I have chosen  (?).

Thanks ptermx ... much appreciated :) and, someone else mentioned some about the Pussy Riot . That was an all girl punk band from Russia, if my aging memory serves.

Yeh it's lucky it was the 6D, the 7D2 would have looked rubbish even at ISO 1000. I was switching between the two cameras (had the 70-200 on the 7D2, and the 24-105 on the 6D).

In the end, I used a lot more of the 6D shots, the 7D2 felt too voyeuristic given the subject matter, but a few of them are from the 7D2.

Hmm, just checked, and many of the 7D2 shots were pretty high ISO (I set the camera to automatically compensate for my shaky hands, so the shutter speed is quite high, and it was overcast towards the end), and they look okay, so maybe I'm giving the 7D2 a hard time.

My usual camera set up, regardless of it being DSLR or bridge camera, is: Shutter priority, spot metering, Auto iso (lowest to 3200), centre point focussing and continuous shooting and, on the rare occasion, I'll delve into something exotic, such as manual and centre weighted or multi pattern metering

Cheers and don't be too harsh on any of your cameras .... and lenses ;)

I keep most of my cameras on "intelligent auto" and that generally meets my needs. The two exceptions are my G9 with 100-400, which I keep on "S" for obvious reasons and my D600, which is always on "A" because I use my Tamron AD2 lenses on it.

So, Andrew, you're into S&A, whereas I know a number of photographers who are into S&M  .... ;) With your G9, is that for shooting
    wildlife and/or sports?

Mostly aircraft, which is what I bought the combo for.

Some shots from the first time I used it in anger during 2018...

And that makes everything alright, does it? The age-old 'if they can do it we can do it too - bigger and better' justification.
