Can anyone help, I can't find my manual for my Pentax MV1 and it needs new batteries. Does anybody out there no what type of batteries it uses?

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure it'll take two 1.5v LR44s, (or a single 3v DL1), the same as the MV, ME and ME Super.

Do you still have the old batteries in the camera? If so, they'll have the type marked on them.

As you say "Batteries" I assume it has two, so the LR44 is the most likely, although different manufacturers use different numbers.

The LR44 is also called AG13, A76, 157, V13GA or, (the most logical one), L1154 (11mm diameter, 5.4mm thick). The DL1 (or it's equivalent) is 11mm diameter and 10.8mm thick - effectively two LR44s end to end, but in a single casing./img/wwwthreads/smile.gif

    Thanks Geoff,

    For those searching the archive:

I can confirm that the Pentax MV1 uses two LR44 bateries.
They are inserted plain side facing camera body ( 've).

    Regards,

    Bilko,

For an instruction manual for your Pentax MV1 go to this link:

    <A HREF="http://www.manualsrus.com/Shopping_Cart/photo/cameras/pentax/peMV1.asp">http://www.manualsrus.com/Shopping_Cart/photo/cameras/pentax/peMV1.asp</A>

Of course, this information is going to be made redundant when you trade in
your MV1, T70 and IXUS cameras..........see your bag post.

    Re: Manual for Pentax MV1

Just loaded the MV1 with a roll of Ilford FP4 and stuck it in my bag as a second camera. It was my first 35mm SLR (present from my parents at about age 15) and I had a hankering to take some snaps with it again. It's sat in a box unused for a very long time.

I know it's not a patch on my EOS, but it's small light, discrete and easy to use. I can't remember if I acheived any good results with it!

Well I don't think much of the lack of information or control the MV 1 gives you, but optical quality's great. Have fun!
