Try this link.
Well done, the one I put up earlier was pulled.
Looks great but I want to see prices before I can judge
Could be tempted to sell the a100 and move upwards
From what I can glean it'll start at about £950 (body only) but will no doubt get discounted in a couple of months.
Seems to have gone again !
All the sites seem to have dropped the flash presentation.
Anyway, here's most of what you'll be looking for.
dpreview has a proper preview.
Very KM 7d like with improvements
Looks like a very capable machine.
There's one feature that may be a problem for me. It seems that they have 'lost' the connector for a remote cable (I use it incessantly on my 7D and 9). There's mention of a remote (supplied) which may do the job but I'd like to know more. I once saw a camera with a remote and you had to have your hand in front of the camera and point the remote at a sensor mounted on the front. Of course for insect macro work (90% of my interest) that's a complete disaster.
Damien (if you are listening) please can you cover that point in your eventual review.
Just watched this youtube video
sorry about the long link but I dont know how to make it into one word.
Moderator's note: instructions on posting a web link here.
Very capable and very nice but not enough to make me gutted that I jumped ship.
thanks to the mod for the link to tinyurl.
The remote is there check out this image the size indicates that it is the standard Minolta RC1000 remote which will be used
I suppose that you could be right but the review that I read seemed to indicate that those doors had other uses such as card compartment, TV connector etc.
I was also worried that the 'remote' had only one function if the camera was not connected to a TV and that was to trip the shutter.
As I said in my other post the only camera I've seen with such a remote needed you to point it at the front of the camera. It seemed to be doing effectively the same thing as a self timer.
I guess that it's wait and see.
The link has gone again. Sony are teasing us.
I can confirm that you can definitely connect a wired remote because they had both (long and short) on display next to the a700 as part of its range of available accessories.
Thanks - don't tell SWMBO she thinks that I won't be interested because it will be no good for 'my' photography.

WOW!! is all i can say, thats one hell of a good video, very impressed!
