Dockyard & Castle

Tiny Upnor Castle sits across the River Medway from Chatham Dockyard which it was built to defend. On 12th June 1667 the Dutch fleet sailed down the Medway, sank most of the ships then anchored overnight before towing the English flagship away, all under the nose of Upnor Castle which failed to do any damage.
