Delight

Some scenes can stop you in your tracks. In this case I was off to fetch a bottle of beer when I emerged from a marquee to view this. Instead I fetched the camera. In some ways taking a photograph of something, removes you from it and changes your relationship with it. I became a photographer rather than a wonderer of delight. I sacrificed this for the permanence of an image. The view changed, the colours darkened and became less distinct as the blanket of night descended and I was glad of my choice, especially when I went back for the beer.
