Barry Harrington, Essex Canon EOS 40D, 10-22mm, 1/60sec at f/22 Barry, a plasterer and passionate landscape photographer, heads off to the US once a year with five other photographers to shoot the national parks. On this trip to Death Valley in California, Barry fought jet lag to be ready early enough to catch the morning light on the sand dunes. ‘Although the image works well in colour, I feel mono adds a certain fine art feel,' he says. Judges say 'Excellent tonal range, texture and use of lines. This is landscape photography at its best.
