There are 12 shortlisted entries in this year's contest, which was open to RNLI volunteer crews and lifeguards.

This is the first time the competition has accepted public votes since it was set up seven years ago.

Votes can be placed from 8-12 November via a dedicated tab on the RNLI's Facebook page, say organisers.

The entry which pulls in the most votes by 5pm on 12 November will be declared the winner.

Visit www.facebook.com/rnli from tomorrow.
