PMA Live: Sigma reveals three new lenses

Independent lens maker Sigma has used PMA in Las Vegas to announce two new Optical Stabilisation (OS) lenses and a 'super wideangle' zoom.

Optical Stabilisation technology, which is built into the lens, is designed to reduce the effects of camera shake.

The Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM includes two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements and three aspherical lenses designed to correct for aberrations.

The 16-element-in-12 group newcomer has a claimed minimum focusing distance of 30cm and maximum magnification is 1:4.1.

Also due out is a 50-200mm f/4-5.6 DC OS HSM lens, featuring 14 elements arranged in 10 groups. Its maximum magnification is 1:4.5.

Sigma has also unwrapped a 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM 'super wideangle' lens featuring two Extraordinary Low Dispersion and one SLD glass element.

It boasts a maximum magnification of 1: 6.6 and minimum focusing distance of 24cm.

All three lenses will be available in Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Sony and Pentax mounts.

UK prices are yet to be announced.
