The world's number one weekly photography magazine
A nude photograph of British supermodel Kate Moss has narrowly beaten a naked picture of France's first lady Carla Bruni at Christie's in New York.
Irving Penn's 1996 image of Moss (right) raised $97,000, more than double its pre-sale estimate.
While, Michel Comte's Bruni portrait - shot in 1993 - sold to an anonymous bidder for $91,000.
The silver gelatin print of Bruni had only been expected to fetch $3,000-4,000.
However, both lots were eclipsed by a photo of Brigitte Bardot which raised $181,000.
When Christie's decided to sell the nude photograph of Carla Bruni she was not engaged to the French President at the time, a spokeswoman told us last month.
