Monday 8th December 2008

An adapter that allows Leica M lenses to be attached to Micro Four Thirds cameras has been launched by Novoflex, which predicts increasing demand for such 'compact camera systems'.

Micro Four Thirds adapters for Leica R, Nikon, Contax/Yashica, Olympus OM, Pentax and Minolta MD lenses are expected to be available from next February, adds the German firm.

So far, Panasonic's Lumix G1 (pictured) is the only Micro Four Thirds camera on the market.

Due out this month, the adapter for Leica M lenses (order code MFT/LEM) will cost €149.

A UK price and availability has not yet been confirmed.
