Award-winning Guardian news photographer Dan Chung was 'manhandled' by police as they removed student protesters near the main Olympic site, according to the newspaper's Beijing diary.
Chung was photographing police as they removed 'Students for a Free Tibet', at a park near to the main Olympic zone.
Also reportedly caught up in the confrontation was ITV television reporter John Ray, who police wrongly accused of 'carrying a Tibetan flag'.
'Police are taking a hands-on approach,' reports The Guardian's Beijing Olympics Diary.
