SanDisk claims to have set a new data transfer speed record for SD digital memory cards.
The SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition line of SDHC cards boasts a 50% faster transfer rate than the existing 20MC/s cards.
A SanDisk spokesman said: 'With ever-increasing technology advancements in DSLRs, higher megapixel growth and new video capturing capabilities, SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s SDHC cards make it easier for consumers to capture and store more high-resolution images and video content.'
The firm cites the recently announced Nikon D90 DSLR, with on-board video capabilities, as a potential market for its new card.
