Photo: Nude Carla Bruni shatters estimate (update 5 June)

A photograph of a nude Carla Bruni has sold for €13,090 (around £11,500) at an auction in Germany this afternoon.

The 1994 photo of the French President's wife - entitled 'Carla Bruni in Bed', by photographer Pamela Hanson - was sold in the form of a gelatin silver print.

It had been expected to raise up to €3,500 (around £3,000), as part of an auction of modern and contemporary photographs at the Villa Grisebach Auction in Berlin.

Earlier today, the auction house said the picture had raised €11,000. However, the final sale figure has since been confirmed as €13,090.
