Jessops has today spoken out in a bid to reassure UK customers that it's business as usual in the wake of its dire profits warning issued a fortnight ago.

Speaking to readers of Amateur Photographer (AP) magazine, a spokesman for the Leicester-based company said: 'We confirm that it's very much business as usual throughout our store network.'

He added: 'Jessops is happy to receive requests for our wide range of special order products, all of which are being fulfilled throughout our usual efficient process.'

AP contacted the high street chain to find out whether customer orders would be affected by Jessops trading statement which was issued on 28 March.

Jessops has so far declined to say whether its predicted half-year loss of £8.5m will lead to job cuts and store closures.
