Jessops denies camera maker 'tie-up'

Jessops has denied a newspaper report that it is in talks about a possible tie-up with a camera manufacturer to rebuild its finances.
A spokesman for Jessops today told Amateur Photographer: 'It's not something we are talking to anyone about.'
The camera retailer's response followed an article that appears in the Daily Mail.
The report states that Jessops chairman David Adams is 'understood to be looking at an idea to team up with a single camera maker rather than selling a range of brands'.
The Daily Mail article, published last night, adds: 'The Jessops stores would then effectively become a UK retail arm of one of the big Japanese camera firms. The chain has particularly strong links with Canon.'
In September, Jessops announced that it had agreed an extension to its loan facilities with HSBC bank until 31 December 2011.
Jessops sales fell 6.4% for the year to 21 September.
The firm is expected to announced its half-year trading results next month.
