Jessops latest: Second-hand service to end by 'summer'

Thursday 13th April 2006

Chris Cheesman

Jessops has confirmed that it is no longer purchasing used equipment or accepting it from customers in part-exchange.
A spokesman told AP: 'The service will continue until all stocks are exhausted which we anticipate will be in the summer.'
As revealed by AP this morning, Jessops is to officially axe its used equipment service, blaming a 'rapid decline' in demand and a big drop in people wanting to part-exchange (see story below).
Jessops has already slashed the price of its second-hand stock - giving customers a 33% discount at stores offering the service.
