Images of England reaches climax

After more than seven years, 13,000 rolls of film and 300,000 photographs, English Heritage project Images of England draws to a close next month.
More than 2,200 photography enthusiasts have taken part in the project which has recorded over 80% of the buildings, monuments and structures that were 'listed' at the turn of the millennium, for storage in a massive online database.
Images of telephone kiosks and the penguin pool at London Zoo line up alongside historic castles, cathedrals and lighthouses.
'Birmingham was found to be the city with the most listed public conveniences,' said an English Heritage spokeswoman.
