Police probe 'high value' raid at Calumet Photographic

Thursday 7th February 2008

Chris Cheesman

Police have launched an investigation after thieves escaped with 'high value' photographic gear from Calumet Photographic's base in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

Police confirmed to Amateur Photographer that the overnight robbery took place at Calumet's warehouse on Bradbourne Drive between 10.30pm on Friday 1 February and 8.45am on Saturday 2 February.

Bradbourne Drive is in the Tilbrook area of Milton Keynes.

A spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police described it as a 'high value' robbery, adding that, at this stage, there are no leads in the case.

Calumet declined to comment on the incident.

Last year thieves twice broke into Sigma's UK base in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire. Unconfirmed reports suggested that the stolen Sigma lenses ended up overseas.

Anyone who can help trace the missing equipment or who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident is asked to call Chris Jackson at Thames Valley Police on 08458 505505.
