Canon issues warning over some G10 cameras

Wednesday 29th April 2009

Canon is offering consumers free repairs of any faulty PowerShot G10 cameras that produce 'lines' on photos, but adds that only some units are affected by the glitch.

Canon UK says that the 'phenomenon' occurs in rare instances on affected units, and the length of the lines that appear depend on the subject photographed.

'Images that display this phenomenon cannot be fixed,' adds a statement on the firm's website.

Canon advises users to check the serial number on the bottom of their camera to find out whether it may be among the affected units.
