Camera store in 'liquidation' (update)

Wednesday 17th December 2008

Chris Cheesman

Essex-based camera retailer AJ Purdy, which ceased trading several weeks ago, is now in Voluntary Liquidation.

Customers are advised to address all enquiries to M H Linton and Paul Weber at Leigh Adams LLP, Brentmead House, Britannia Road, London N12 9RU.

'We would like to thank all our customers and suppliers over the past 77 years,' states a revised message on the shop's website.

Shortly after AJ Purdy ceased trading, its director Steve Marley blamed the firm's demise largely on the credit crunch and 'below cost' pricing set by competitors.
