The world's number one weekly photography magazine
Famed author Jilly Cooper has urged newspapers to properly credit photographers for their images.
In a letter published in The Times newspaper yesterday Jilly Cooper wrote: 'I would like to start a campaign for bigger and more appropriate bylines for photographers.'
Referring to a photo of footballer Frank Lampard - published in The Times on 2 May and hailed as 'image of the day' - she said: 'The only thing wrong with this exquisite marriage of copy and photograph was that the name of the photographer (Matt Dunham) was hidden like a tiny, tiny centipede on the top right of the picture.'
The Gloucestershire-based novelist wants photographers to be given greater recognition.
'Over and over again photographers get miniscule bylines or no byline at all. And I feel they should get equal billing to writers because their contribution is just as important,' she continued.
