Damien Demolder

After three years in the Features Department and four years as Technical Editor of AP, Damien Demolder was appointed Editor of AP in February 2007.
As Technical Editor and Deputy Editor Damien ran AP's in-house testing team and has experience of a wide range of different camera systems, lens types, desktop printers and scanners. He has worked for IPC's photo titles since 1997, and before that he was a professional photographer.

Chris Cheesman
News Editor
Chris is the first port of call for relaying photography related news, whether it be the latest products and technology, photo competitions, breaches of photographers' rights - or stories about key figures and companies making their mark on the industry. Before joining AP in 1999 Chris worked as a news reporter and feature writer on business magazines and has journalistic experience both inside and outside photography. As a keen photo enthusiast Chris mainly uses a digital SLR when out and about.

Mat Gallagher
Deputy Editor
Technical Editor
Having completed a degree in Creative Imaging from the University of Huddersfield, Mat had a brief spell as a freelance photographer before starting on photography magazines in 2003. He joined IPC in 2009 as Deputy Editor for our sister title, What Digital Camera, and moved across to Amateur Photographer in November 2010, taking over the reigns of Technical Editor and Deputy Editor. He also edits the interactive online magazine Better Digital Photography.
Richard Sibley
Technical Writer
Richard has been with the Technical Department since 2007. Before joining the AP he was a tutor, teaching GCSE and A-Level photography, and was also the manager of a photographic lab, printing both film and digital images. He has a degree in Editorial and Advertising Photography, having graduated from the Kent Institute of Art and Design.
Tim Coleman
Technical Writer
Tim joined the technical team in May 2010. Tim has a degree in Photography from Kent Institute of Art & Design (now known as UCA) and has worked as a freelance wedding and portrait photographer, but also enjoys landscape photography. His previous role concentrated on digital media, creating and delivering photography and video workshops to young people.
Gemma Padley
Features Editor
Gemma joined AP in December 2007. As part of the features team, she interviews photographers with a range of interests from wildlife and landscapes to portraiture, documentary and street photography. Gemma also coordinates the Readers' Gallery and the Reader Masterclass. Before joining AP, Gemma studied English at university and completed a diploma in journalism in 2007. A keen photographer, her main interests are low-light performance photography and street photography, although she also enjoys shooting black and white film and hopes to set up her own darkroom.
