Thousands of campaigners have signed a petition to save the National Media Museum in Bradford, after bosses warned it could close if subject to further government cuts.

More than 12,000 have so far signed the petition which calls on Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne to ‘consider the impact’ of the government’s comprehensive spending review on 26 June.

It adds: ‘Further government cuts to the Science Museum Group’s annual funding will most likely result in the closure of the National Media Museum.

‘This will be a devastating loss to the city of Bradford and a tragic outcome on an international scale’.
