Sony NEX-5N and NEX-7 compact system cameras

Sony?s NEX compact system camera range sees two new models this morning, with the NEX-5N and NEX-7 models. The NEX-5N is an improved version of the NEX-5, and though it maintains the same 16.1MP sensor it now includes an improved BIONZ processor and sees the maximum sensitivity increased to 25,600 ISO. Full HD video is now available at 1080 50P for the first time and full manual control in video. The in-camera picture effects seen on the NEX-C3 are also introduced here, with 11 modes and 15 effects. An external EVF is also now available.

The NEX-7 is the new flagship compact system model and features the same new 24.3MP Exmoor sensor as in the new Alpha models, also announced today. It boasts fast auto focusing and shutter lag of just 0.02sec. The NEX-7 has a built-in flash and an electronic viewfinder, with the same XGA 2.3-million-dot resolution as on the new Alpha viewfinders. It also features 10fps continuous shooting, full 1080 50P HD video with manual control and a 3in tilt angle LCD.
