Independent lens maker Sigma has revamped two more of its lenses to add Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) functionality for Nikon digital SLRs.

Independent lens maker Sigma has revamped two more of its lenses to add Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) functionality for Nikon digital SLRs.

Priced £289.99, the Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC Macro HSM has a maximum magnification of 1:2.3 and a minimum focus distance of 20cm.

A Special Low Dispersion (SLD) lens and two aspherical lenses aim to improve image quality.

Also revealed is the Sigma 18-55mm f/2.8 EX DC Macro HSM, boasting a maximum magnification of 1:3, SLD glass and Extraordinary Low Dispersion lens elements. It carries a £389.99 pricetag.

Earlier this month Sigma announced updated versions of its 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 and 55-200mm f/4-5.6 zoom lenses, both with HSM, for use on Nikon SLRs (see below).
