Samsung and Kodak will both unveil new 10-million-pixel digital compact cameras at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas which starts today.

Due out in ?the spring? the 10.1-Samsung S1050 sports a 5x optical zoom, 3in monitor and modes including aperture and shutter priority and manual control. It also includes Samsung?s Advanced Shake Reduction system, auto exposure bracketing and compatibility with AA batteries.

Meanwhile, the Kodak EasyShare V1003 is due to land on the UK high street in March priced £199.99.

Out in a choice of silver, black or pink colours, its features include a 3x Kodak Retinar Aspheric zoom, 2.5in LCD screen and a digital image stabilisation mode.

Both newcomers boast a top ISO equivalent of IS0 1600.

Samsung is yet to announce a price for the S1050 (pictured).

CES runs until 11 January.
