Buckingham Palace will neither confirm nor deny reports that Hugo Burnand has been chosen as the official photographer for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Two newspapers today claim that Burnand, who took the official photos of Prince Charles’ wedding to Camilla, has been handed the commission.

However, Buckingham Palace remains tight-lipped.

A Palace spokeswoman told Amateur Photographer this afternoon: ‘We cannot confirm [the reports].’

She declined to comment further.

London’s Evening Standard today reports that Burnand’s ‘discretion, spontaneity and charm’ is favoured by the royal family.

Burnand could not be reached at his London studio at the time of writing.
